Ten thousands years ago, the twin blades of the Sicarii (daggermen) would have strike fear in the heart of the bravest. In service of the ancient Apostles, the fanatical assassins and their blessed daggers freed numerous souls from certain damnation. This informal sect was made of slaves particularly receptive to the purifying rite as practiced then. Those who survived it where generally seen by outsiders as “god-intoxicated” introverts with little ambition other than serving the great Prophet. Mostly invisible to the pubic eyes, they were to remain simple slaves often from lesser races, hiding in the masses, waiting for the Call.
Specialized theologians usually date the end of the Sicarrii way just before 21,875 AD, when the Empire went through what were known as the Moral Reforms. Today's official books contain only vague references to the sect, but there are plenty of related myths and legends still transmitted if just to scare the Amarrian youth.
But the mark has been seen. Dusty tomes have been recovered. The cleansing ceremony has been held for the first time in centuries.
The Salvation Sisterhood a new order of Ammarian devotees founded by Blode Sheraz, revived the Sicarii to serve them and to help them protecting the Holy Empire against all enemies.
