The ancient village left him to be. starving from the failed rice harvest, while he tried to grow the weird fruit.
This is the origin of the holy potato. The one that could be grown to 100's in a single summer, and 10000 after two summers.
After a few years there was no starvation in hapan, and gratefull for what the duchman did, they mad him the potato king.
