Miners: Mining bots clear out your belts and fill the markets with cheap ore, they reduce your profit for this grinding activity that some of us nonetheless enjoy and take pride in. Mining is a time to sit back and chat with residents of EVE while still making ISK. But botter's ice, PI, and minerals mean you're always falling short of their 23/7 activity. The botter laughs and gets ahead while your corp struggles to make a living. Industrialists: Market bots undercut your prices by .01 ISK every time, and they'll use botted raw material to build their products. What does the botter care? It isn't corpmates doing the work to supply their factories, but an endless stream of auto-retrievers and auto-mackinaws. He'll even take a loss if it means bankrupting your operation, and there's nothing you can do about it! PVPers: Did you just take out a billion ISK Tengu? I'd be proud too, right until the player undocks a fresh one, paid for with ratting bots in Null. He calls a few buddies together and wipes you and your corpmates out, tactics be damned. Because they have the bot money - and you will have to grind for months to replace your losses. You can never get the upperhand. PLEX: Why would a botter pay all those subscription fees, when his 23/7 fleet can afford any amount of ISK you name? The average player probably can't afford it - not when botting reduces the profit of all his activites, and raises the cost of faliure - but what does the botter care? He plays for free as he ruins the game you love. Enter The BOT Annihilation Squad. A corp that systematically targets botting accounts until their funds are depleted and their operations in shambles, we tackle one enemy at a time to ensure they're completely ruined, and have to resort to real life money to restart their operation - at which point they'll give up, or turn to RMT (which will surely get them banned.) But TBOTA needs your help to make this possible. While I had considered starting my own bot operation to fund ganking (using bot-ore to build gank ships, and not letting it enter the economy) that seemed too shakey a proposition. My own bot-money would be necessary to pay for PLEX, and violating the EULA could force CCP to shut down an otherwise noble cause. So I've decided to launch a Patreon instead to pay for subscriptions. Understand that assaulting bots in EVE could change the entire game's economics, but that it may be the only way to coax CCP into taking more action on the issue. It's generally understood that they are worried about losing their playerbase to any major changes, which would mean staff cuts at CCP. Thus, we have to be the change as the players of eve. How can I, a capsuleer, help TBOTA? You can help TBOTA in three ways besides $$$ or ISK donations. 1. Donate pirate tags to our corp at your local trade hub, this keeps TBOTA's security status up for easier ganking operations. Use contracts. 2. Send us intelligence! Bots are in every hi-sec system, but some areas are more heavily infested. The best way to confirm they are bots and not multi-boxers is their play time and reaction time. Any player logged in and active for an inhuman amount of time strongly indicates a bot, as does significant lag between actions and not responding to hails. TBOTA still has to personally investigate however, to prevent abuse of our fleet against players who follow the EULA. 3. Join us! TBOTA uses warfare links to boost the ganking time of its fleet members, and does mining/indy to pay for ganking ships. Covering all timezones will ensure we really shut a botter down 100%.
