The Novata family has long history in the Chardu region. They specialized in manufacturing and mining for generations. While not a major political force in the Amarr Empire like the royal houses within it, The Novata family maintained a small political influence with their long held partnership with the Sarum Family. In the year YC117 Cassandra Novata inherited the family fortune with the expectations of her family that she would continue the family's quiet working relationships within the empire. Much to their reluctance, she moved the family from its humble beginnings in Khopa to Null-Sec's Goonswarm Federation seeking fortune. This business expansion would yeild a bountiful harvest for the quiet family. While the prosperity dramatically increased the Novata family's balance sheet, misfortune would strike the Novata family twice. The Sarum Family's loss of the Succession Trials in YC118 left them politically isolated and Goonswarm Federation's loss of sovereignty in YC119 stripped them of their Null-Sec assets. With no allies and a diminished income, the Novata family made drastic changes. The loyal Amarr family did the unthinkable: opened business with the Gallente Federation. Fortuitous outcomes would lead to Ducreux Industries' Nathaniel Ducreux as a business partner. Despite the rumors of his company as a Serpentis front, his influence added financial and logistical partnerships to the Novata family. Contrary to their family's history, the Novata Family Estate was finally merged with Ducreux Industries in YC119 with Nathaniel Ducreux's eventual marriage to Cassandra Novata. Now known as the House of Novata-Ducreux, the merged familial and business relationships would later lead to expansion into Solitude and Tash-Murkon. This developement replaced the old depleted assets and added new partners. The joined family is now looking to the future and is rumored to be seeking new Null-Sec partnerships.
